Hydrogen manufacturing at Hyto Energy encompasses the entire process of producing hydrogen gas, with a focus on electrolysis—a clean, scalable method that uses electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. This manufacturing process is designed to be flexible, catering to small-scale residential needs and large-scale industrial demands alike. The core of hydrogen manufacturing lies in electrolyzers, with Hyto offering three specialized types: alkaline electrolyzers, which use a liquid KOH electrolyte and are favored for large-scale industrial manufacturing due to their maturity, low cost, and ability to operate continuously; PEM electrolyzers, which utilize a solid polymer membrane, enabling high-efficiency production (over 80%) and rapid adjustment to renewable energy inputs, making them ideal for manufacturing hydrogen in conjunction with solar or wind farms; and AEM electrolyzers, which combine the best of both alkaline and PEM technologies, using anion exchange membranes and non-precious metal catalysts to balance cost and performance for mid-scale manufacturing. Manufacturing facilities are equipped with water treatment systems (when needed) to ensure optimal electrolyzer performance, and on-site storage (metal hydrides, high-pressure tanks) to store produced hydrogen until needed. Quality control is integral, with regular testing to ensure hydrogen purity meets industry standards (up to 99.999%). By aligning manufacturing with renewable energy sources, Hyto ensures that hydrogen production is not only efficient but also carbon-neutral, supporting global decarbonization goals.
