Hydrogen gas production at Hyto Energy is centered on electrolysis, a process that converts water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity, with a strong emphasis on green production (powered by renewables) to ensure sustainability. Our production systems utilize three key electrolyzer technologies, each optimized for specific scenarios. Alkaline electrolyzers, using potassium hydroxide (KOH) as the electrolyte, are deployed for large-scale industrial production, offering high stability, low water purity requirements, and cost-effectiveness—ideal for generating tons of hydrogen daily for steel, chemical, and refining industries. Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, with their solid polymer membranes, excel in producing high-purity hydrogen (99.999%+) and are designed to integrate with solar and wind farms, adjusting production in real time to match renewable energy fluctuations. This makes them perfect for distributed production, such as home or commercial systems, where green hydrogen is used for fuel cells or heating. Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolyzers, a newer addition, combine alkaline’s affordability with PEM’s efficiency, using non-precious metal catalysts to reduce operational costs, suitable for mid-scale production serving regional markets. All production systems include quality control measures to ensure hydrogen meets strict purity standards, while integration with storage solutions (metal hydrides, tanks) ensures a steady supply. By prioritizing renewable energy inputs, Hyto’s hydrogen gas production minimizes carbon footprints, delivering a clean fuel source for decarbonizing diverse sectors.
